Maybe it sounds horrible but the Grand Canyon wasn't great. Why? It's too famous, unable to surprise and there are too many people around there. I think everybody has to seek out their magical place. I am sure the Grand Canyon was awesome when the first explorers came here and found it.
We hiked down a bit. Down is no problem. But then you go up, your mouth dries up and feels like the sand on the trails. For someone as unsporty as me it's quite character building. You have your goal but thinking about it all the time is discouraging. You have to be patient, take a step at the time, listen to your body and make sure that the Kung Fu squirrels don't eat your food.
